Hi! My name is Minna Reinilä, and at the turn of the year I started my work trial at culture and resident house Kääntöpaikka, where I run the everyday functions and take care of PR, and at Spirit of Artova, where I’m a co-ordinator. I’m sure I’ll find out in the near future what all that means. At this point, it would seem that I’ll participate in co-ordinating Arabianranta Street Festival and join the media relations team of AFF. Writing is a dear hobby of mine, and I’m very interested in sharing in this blog how I experience working in this kind of environment.
Although I have some experience of working in associations and communities, I have spent the last few years doing very practical work on a tight schedule with very little opportunities to influence my tasks. The previous description answers the question why I started to consider a career change and how I ended up in Artova, doing a work trial supported by the Employment and Economic Development Office. It has quickly turned out that there is a huge gap between my old and new jobs. The first thing to surprise me was that two people used a good few hours finding out whether working for Artova would be something I would find meaningful and what kind of tasks would suit me the best. I must say that it made me feel appreciated. It takes some time to apprehend and internalise the entity that is Artova but with this short experience I can say that it’s a pleasure to work with these affable people, and I have found true inspiration in finding that my ideas are listened to and I can influence the tasks I do.
